Project Description:
A marketing project for a music festival based in Pomona, California called Spring Joy. The main flyer and Instagram post were two items that were meant to be eye-catching and straightforward. The central figure of the flyer is meant to reference the Downtown Pomona mural of a personified Pomona.
Process:
My first inspiration behind this poster were posters from the 1890s that usually centered a female figure, then I began to think about what I wanted this figure to represent. I decided that the main figure should represent Pomona as a lot of art in Pomona features her, such as the mural in downtown Pomona (link to the mural). It was important that I also depicted her as someone that you might see around in Pomona. I also wanted to include a landmark special to Pomona for residents to know where the festival would take place immediately.
